Our Story
Started on March 13, 2020, when COVID hit our communities.
With an impending shutdown on the horizon, everyone was rushing to ensure they had enough supplies, frantically packing stores to stock up. This coincided with the week when Rochelle participated in an online meeting with her corporate team at NextHome (Real Estate Brokerage). In the meeting, they urged their teams to reach out to past clients and check in on them. The CEO emphasized that now was the time to step up and help others, aligning with the NextHome slogan, #HumansOverHouses. This message resonated deeply with Rochelle as she looked around and pondered, “I have everything I need; what do others need?” She swiftly noticed friends on Facebook seeking assistance, yet observed no organized groups stepping in to help.
In just three months, SE WI Emergency Support Group, a non-profit organization, obtained their 501C3 status.
Following some deliberation, we realized that our name didn’t precisely reflect our activities. We enlisted the help of a marketing company and added a DBA to our name, now known as Friends With Food.
