I am proud to share Friends with Food’s June volunteer of the month with you!  

Barb always comes into the pantry with a friendly smile and a positive attitude. You can usually find Barb in our dairy section, which is her favorite table to work at!

How long have you been a volunteer at Friends with Food?  

I’ve been volunteering for almost a year! 

Why did you choose to volunteer at Friends with Food?  

I live two minutes from Friends With Food. Each time I would drive by I thought that when I retire, I would look into volunteering at that place. So after I retired in July 2022, I looked into it. I’ve volunteered doing different things throughout the years and I like helping people so it seemed like a good fit! 

What is your favorite thing about volunteering at Friends with Food?  

I believe I have two favorite things about volunteering at Friends With Food… Serving others and getting to know the guests and the other volunteers! As I mentioned, I’m retired and one thing I miss is seeing people.
